17 BENTON.
The transformation of 17 Benton Street from its former Oktoberfest headquarters, into a new office space marks a significant development at the intersection of Benton and Charles.
Unveiling and restoring the historic building concealed behind the Bavarian castle-like façadism, as well as, the preservation of the German heritage present on the site was pivotal in the design process. A drape of metallic shingles, arranged in a pattern inspired by the Bavarian flag was introduced along Charles Street to instill a sense of cultural homage and modernity.
Historic tones of green were introduced to complement the rich red brick of the original building and serve as a backdrop that highlights both the windows and doors, as well as the new additions – notably, the fourth floor and the main entrance along Benton Street.
