32 AHRENS.
Emerging as a symbol of contemporary living amidst the historic tapestry of the Civic Centre Heritage District, this home was born from the thoughtful reimagining of a remnant property. The striking residence boldly expresses its contemporary identity with its verticality being the most prominent feature. Gracefully rising to meet the sky, the three-story volume echoes the classic proportions of the surrounding residential buildings.
/ The extruded gable massing pays homage to the architectural motifs of neighbouring Victorian homes while maintaining a clear distinction as a product of its time.
Its exterior façades were clad in pre-treated kiln-dried wood siding, exuding warmth and texture, while a prefinished standing seam metal roof added a contemporary touch. The recessed front and rear façades contributed to the overall harmony with the streetscape, while playful window projections on the side façades enhance visual interest.
